Most prestigious and rigorous master level degree in Europe

Hi
I was wondering if you have any idea on which master’s level programme in Europe would be the most prestigious and worthy? Also what would be the one that’s the hardest to get into?(beside professional degrees, such as MBA JD MD etc)
Do you have any idea?

And what would be the one in Finance and Business?

I was thinking about some GEs in France or MSc at Oxford.

What would you say?

This has been covered rigorously on here already. For IB, the list of programmes is as follows:

https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/school/european-masters-rankings

This is generally in line with prestige/academic rigour, EXCEPT for LBS (not saying that you won’t have to study, but probably half as much as the Oxford MFE students who will have to live in the library)

Is it okay to conclude that by and large, it’s OX MFE that’s generally considered most prestigious and rigorous?

Also, how do you compare this to MIT MFIN or Princeton’s?

Btw, thanks for input.

Interesting. Do you think HEC MIF is more prestigious than MiM? And then, Bocconi? Really??

I don't know much about HEC's MiM. Bocconis MiF is notoriously academically rigourous and full of quantitative subjects. Many students complain they don't have time to focus on recruiting because they're studying all the time.

Interesting! Didn’t know. How would you compare Oxford’s one to HEC LSE LBS Bocconi’s?

Most Helpful

For London recruiting I would rank them as follows: Oxford MFE, LBS MFA, HEC MIF, LSE, Bocconi

My LSE ranking might be slightly controversial, but it is very competitive as you're competing against a large cohort of undergraduate students for summer internships.

Most rigorous is Oxford MFE by far. Bocconi and St Gallen may also be semi rigorous, while LBS/HEC/LSE, and especially LBS, are considered chill

Lovely! It’s great.

In terms of prestige, what would you say?

LBS = Ox > LSE?? In terms of rigor, wouldn’t it be a bit weird?

Also, Where are HEC ESCP MiM?

LBS and LSE should be in the same separate tier below Oxford but above Imperial and Bocconi

Haha I understand. Do you agree there might be a different level of perceived prestige and rigor by general public? Also, there might be differences between schools and programmes? Given that, what would be your pick?

Oxford MFE would be the answer here. Most selective Master program as per admissionreport data, GMAT average, etc. and also known to be very academic

Small note: all PGE programs in France are not rigorous at all, they derive their prestige from the selective "Concours" for which students prepare insanely hard in "Prepas", but once you are in you effectively network and party all day (slight exaggeration)

Thanks for input! Ik this is an entirely different question, but how would you compare Oxford MFE to MIT Mfin Or Princeton’s?

At this stage comparisons don't matter, if you want to stay in Europe pick Oxford, if you want to go to the US pick MIT or Princeton. Doubt you there are many cross-admits between the three programs.

In an absolute sense, to entertain you I would say (again, based on perceived academic rigor and selectivity) Princeton > Oxford = MIT, with all three finance degrees (discounting pure quant finance courses, although I believe at MIT and Princeton you can tailor the courses such that it becomes more like a quant finance degree) being in a league of their own worldwide.

The ETH / UZH MScQF seems quite hard and relatively selective (15-20% acceptance rate).
