target school
Hi all, what are some good target schools that are easier than others and easier to get into, but still look good for IB. I know there aren’t any, but I’m asking in terms of if there had to be one or a couple.

Depends, are you willing to compete against women swimmers?
sorry what lol?
This is forbidden knowledge, but there is an easy way to get into penn
I think Northwestern's/Vanderbilt is high. Not sure if they are targets tho.
UVA ED is also decent too.
Dartmouth ED isn't unfair either.
yea idk if I can get into any of those lmaoo
bro if you cant get into uva its over
I’d be careful about relying too much on Dartmouth ED acceptance numbers since they love their legacys (highest proportion of legacy’s compared to all the other ivys) and nearly all of them apply ED which makes those numbers look a lot better. Ie if you’re not a legacy Dartmouth ED gets a lot harder.
Dartmouth ED is nearly all legacy and athletes, as is most of the Ivy League schools. Wouldn't recommend betting on that.
If a school is super easy to get into, it isn't a target for a reason. I know a lot of people throw around Indiana, but to get into their workshop it's very selective, and you still need a high GPA and test score (although not as outrageous as other schools) to get into Kelley, and then only 5% of Kelley is in the workshop. In my experience, most IBW kids my firm hired were top students who chose to go to IU on a full-ride and did very well there.
In terms of schools that have some pipelines with greater than 10% acceptance rates:
UT-Austin (not sure what out-of-state acceptance rate is, though), Boston College, Indiana (see above), Emory, Villanova, Ohio State
Info on UT: Fall 2022 Common Data Set has 31% acceptance rate. McCombs BBA Acceptance rate for 2023 is 14% disclosed on their website. Canfield Business Honors Program Acceptance Rate for 2021 is 13%, but looking at 2023 it is probably around 10%.
The above are blended stats.
For out of state only: seems like an 8% acceptance rate to the university according to an Ivyscholars blog source
UT admissions grants top 6% of in-state graduating class automatic admission to the university but not to the major of their choice. It has been on the uptrend as well on the rankings side and about a ~T30 now.
The top 6% law skews the acceptance rate a lot. Kids who are admitted to the university through top 6% are only guaranteed majors in the College of Liberal Arts, if I remember correctly. I don't think they publish the true acceptance rate of applicants into their first-choice majors.
Ehh UT Austin is an insanely hard admit out of state and Emory in general is a very hard admit. I would hardly call Ohio State a pipeline and IU is just IB workshop and kinda left out cold
Correct. As I mentioned in my reply, I think none of these are ideal for one reason or another (i.e., UT low out-of-state acceptance rate, OSU not really being a pipeline outside of Cleveland), but it sounds like OP has limited options anyway
You didn't come across any diversity faking Indian IU Kelley students?
Moreso semis, but I'm always favorable/neutral to kids from Texas, UVA, Michigan, UCLA, Berkeley, LACs, etc
any semi targets on the east coast, mainly looking at jersey PA and new york
Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, NYU
I mean whats ur def of easy. UMich Ross is easier than Harvard if that is wot u are looking for
something a but easier than umich
looking in the 40% semi target- nearing almost a target range
Brother, if that's the best school you can get into, maybe finance isn't for you
Only finance you'll get is FP&A
