there is not enough trading content on this site to warrant a sub-forum. just ask your questions
I'd want a separate forum for this as well. I'm in the field and I'm sure there are lots of lurkers who are either 1) interested in the field or 2) already in it.
Can someone tag AndyLouis or other admin on this? I can't seem to be able to do it for some reason.
Quantnet seems to be the leading quant forum, but it doesn't seem like a ton of people use it.
IMO - the audience of Quantnet is more “advanced” whereas the audience of the quant forum here would be more so newbies and people in undergrad looking to learn about the industry/ask intro-intermediate questions
However, I’m not an expert on all articles posted on Quantnet and can’t say for sure that’s their audience. just my opinion.
I'd say the opposite. Quantnet is filled with posts on MFE and MFin programs + education material.
So Quantnet already is a place for newbies looking to learn about the industry.
TBH, Quantnet is very much focused on admissions to MFE and MFin programs, not on what's happening in the quant space.
I'd like a thread for people who are already quants
Same here. However, I'm not sure how many quants actually would use it lol.
QuantNet is just the most depressing website. I can't read it for more than 10 minutes without feeling miserable.
AndyLouis
Would love to see this.
appreciate the support, hopefully this can happen...only makes sense IMO
while this thread is still alive, anybody have recommendations on market data related to market events (FED, earnings, etc.) and intraday ticks that's affordable?
If you're in school, WRDS has pretty reliable CME tick data and my guess is many universities would give you access if you ask (mine did).
