Credit Research -> Credit Trading?

Currently working as a credit research analyst on the firm's Credit S&T desk and am interested in learning more about the actual trading side of the business. Does anyone know of any good resources/primers on Credit Trading specifically? Also interested in how likely it is for a research analyst to break into an actual trading role elsewhere / how one would go about doing so. Thanks!

It's actually quite simple, you go to the head of the desk, and you say "I would like to learn about trading this product, would you consider letting me spend some time with the traders?" And then you see what happens.
