Include Incoming Role on Resume for 2021 SA?

Hi everyone,

With 2021 SA applications starting up soon, I am updating my resume to be prepared. I landed an FI Trading Internship at a Top 10 Buy-Side Asset Manager (think PIMCO, Amundi, etc) with a start date in late June 2020. Given that some firms have 2021 SA deadlines in April or May, is it appropriate to include my incoming role on my resume with the caveat that I haven't started yet?

Background: Semi-Target School, GPA: 3.5/4.0, multiple on-campus leadership roles, only other internship in tech consulting

Thank you for any help or guidance!

Yea, I did and it only helped. If it's pertinent experience, you want to add it. Just say "Incoming" whatever it is. Just as long as it's not some dumb shit like "Incoming Lifeguard" then you're fine and this will only help your app

That internship will give you a big edge so definitely add it on your resume. If nothing else it will show that you are interested in the industry. Of course you haven't done anything there yet so be very brief. Make it a bullet point that shows the firm, position and the time you'll be there. I would recommend not trying to speculate about what you'll be doing to add extra flavor to your resume.

Northeastern isn’t really a semi-target school but Wellington has a solid ft trading program so wouldn’t be a bad idea to try to convert your co-op into a ft offer
