Need help with S&T Interview Questions

Hi folks, just got a sales interview at a brokerage, here are some questions they given me. Very basic but I struggle with it, so I would appreciate any help on how to answer those questions.

  1. How do you cross-sell clients to trade CFD if they only trade stock?
  2. How do you cross-sell clients if they have interests but never trade before?
  3. How do you deal with a client when slippage occurs?

Thanks!

1) walk them thru correlations with candlestick charts, and show them opportunities in CFD (other asset classes like bonds, metals, energy, etc..) that don't exist in stocks. also note the different tax treatments

2) take their interests, and then create a list of securities that manifest those interests. Interests generally equate to following news around an asset class...which gives opportunity to trade securities around differing news headlines. People with interests tend to think they know a lot about the topic...which leads to trading opportunities

3) when slippage occurs, explain exactly how it happened, what you did / plan to do in the future to mitigate slippage from happening again...and also explain that no human is perfect..we all make mistakes, but we can learn from our mistakes to be better in the future, and thats the best we can do.
