Programming Literature Reccomendations
I'm on the cusp of a few potential offers for some quantitative trading roles. I think someone posted some reccomendations on books/articles etc. to read for learning to use both VBA and SQL a while back, so pardon my question if I'm reposting.
I've got a solid fundamental knowledge of C++, so I was hoping people with experience could refer me some reading tools that are geared toward new users in VBA and SQL but progress into some more intermediate knowledge. If you could provide sort of a brief synopsis or glimpse of the content and how easy it is to interpret, I would appreciate it. Thanx
My advice: SQL is nothing like Java, C++, or other procedural programming languages. You really need a in-depth knowledge of databases, tables, relationships, etc. before you can even attempt to write a SQL statement. I suggest you find a book (I don't have any recommendations, sorry) that starts out with database lessons then progresses to SQL lessons. It is also a subject that is painfully difficult to learn by just digging in, you need tutorage or a book.
