Slightly unusual situation and a little confused - thoughts?

OK this is slightly on the long side and there's a whole load of stuff I probably haven't included because that would make it even longer, but I'm

I'm a few months into a 1-year internship in Tech at a BB in London. From what I've learned since being here and through talking to various people, the role I am in is probably about as 'front office' as a tech role could get (application management for a trading desk; we sit next to them, are in frequent dialogue whenever any tech-related issues arise (by which I mean issues with orders, the platforms, software, exchange connectivity etc; a lot of the desk's flow is low-touch electronic stuff so whenever issues do arise we usually have an important role to play in resolving them) and we do a lot of specialised stuff that ends up going out to the desk's clients (customised pre- and post-trade reports, analytics and the like). It's an interesting job, and from the sounds of it I've gained more business exposure and 'dynamic' situational experience than many of my friends in other tech roles, but it's exactly this that's made me question whether it's where I really want to be.

Given that I'm majoring in Computer Science, and that I've only started really following the markets since I've got into this role and realised that, to put it bluntly, I find the markets and products themselves far more interesting than the technology behind them (to the point where I've spent a large amount of my free time learning about products and markets that have absolutely no relation to what I'm actually doing, for no other reason than I find it interesting and become a bit of a sponge for information when I sink my teeth into something) - I'm wondering: do I realistically stand any chance whatsoever of breaking into S&T from uni? (right now I'm contemplating applying for summer internships in S&T at MM banks but I honestly don't know whether I'd be just shooting for the impossible in even doing this). Alternatively, would I better off doing what I'm doing now for a few years after graduating, and then attempting to make the jump either a) on merit or b) through doing an MBA ?

I realise most of you will probably take a look at this and decide that it looks like a crock of rambling bullshit, which it kind of is - but I guess that's representative of my level of confusion and uncertainty over what I should do/stand a chance of being able to do, knowing that ultimately where I am now is not the side of the fence I really want to be in.

Thanks for reading and (hopefully) replying with your thoughts...
