Visiting Goldman S&T tomorrow. Need questions.
Going to visit Goldman S&T tomorrow with a finance club from my school. I just found out I can go today so I haven't researched or came up with many questions yet. What would be some good questions to ask? Thanks
what do you want to know about?
Best way to prepare for the job? What roles there are in S&T? Hardest part of the job? Some questions to show interest. GS just rated Goog has a buy at 670 or so, doesd the S&T group recommond this or no? Whats something they didnt knoe about S&T before starting that they know now? etc.
so you answered your own question. ask those ones.
goog trades in the mid 400s btw
i know about goog, but today news came out or so that GS is recommending it as a buy saying it will go to 670 or so. does S&T so the buy/sell recs?
I want more questions to ask, in case others ask those and stuff.
what are the most challenging and exciting parts of your job
tell me how you got to where you are today
whats something you know now that you wish you knew when you were my age
do you have any advice for me
people like to hear themselves talk, ask them questions that they can talk forever on
want to ask something technical...ask how you measure the probability an option ends in the money...
I would be careful on the technical questions. You never want to ask a question that, by you not asking correctly or the employee not knowing, would put the GS employee in an uncomfortable situation. You would come across, potentially, as a dick and the employee as an idiot.
Example: I spoke to a class at my alma mater and a kid asked me a totally theoretical question deep in the pages of an options theory book. Hell, I asked people who have been trading for 20 years and they gave a blank look equivalent to what I gave the class. I knew he dug out some question that he though would make him look informed and intelligent. Once I explained why it was stupid, as I said, he looked a bit like a dick and it pissed me off that this punk kid would try to show me up.
goog to 670 in the near term (say the next 1 to 2 years) is asinine.
I didn't ask many questions, but damn I want S&T.
how'd the visit go, what'd you do?
