Deal Execution in VC/Growth
As far as I understand, there are 3 main things that someone working in VC/Growth might do on the job (before they are partners and do fundraising etc.) Sourcing, deal execution, and coverage of portfolio companies.
I understand the first and last job functions- finding investment opportunities, doing due diligence, and eventually advising companies that you fund on things like growth strategy. What exactly is deal execution at a granular level? Is it things like valuation and/or negotiation of terms? What might an associate contribute to this process? I couldn't find too much on this online. Thanks!
