VC IR offer - Is it compelling or not?
Hi everyone. I wanted to get some candid advice from all of you about a job I'm thinking about taking. It is a VC investors relations associate role at 2-year-old $400M VC firm. They are raising a second fund. I have been working at the allocators' investment side (asset management) for about 4 years and pre-MBA. The base is $90k plus every $100M raised with 10k bonus. The carry is 25bps with a 2-year cliff. My only concern is that I believe that the salary is low, is it true?
I don't have much time and I am new to the VC comp so any help at all would be much appreciated.
jasoncyu, shame nobody has responded. Maybe one of these topics will help:
Any pros willing to rescue this discussion? Keepman Hugh Myron willherndon
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
Salary sounds a tad low. Are you in a Midwest city? What is the diff between IR assoc and regular assoc?
