Would you stay in corporate & investment banking if your startup could raise $1MM tomorrow? (Pre-Revenue)
Genuinely curious on peoples' thoughts here - if you had a startup that was still pre-revenue, but you were getting offers to raise $1mm from investors, on the condition that you switch to your startup full-time and leave investment banking behind, would you do it?
Consider the risk profile of a pre-revenue startup (with funding though), the current tech startup market environment, the opportunity cost of your income in banking, and the prospect of potentially not being able to get a job in IB again after going after your startup full-time.
What would you do? Another option is to bootstrap the startup and keep your job in Corporate & Investment Banking, but then you're on your own and no funding (has its own pros and cons).
