Using a Financial Advisor Position for experience?
As a follow up to my other thread. I'm thinking about taking a financial advisor position to just use them for about 6 months so I could beef up my resume experience, which mine clearly lacks. Any thoughts on this?
what job are you going to be looking for afterwards?
remember that being an FA (assuming retail FA) is mostly a sales job. do you have another job lined up, what kind of work do you want to do going forward?
if you want to work in PWM, then the FA experience may help.
Ideally work as an equity analyst, or an analyst for a fund of funds. This would be a cheap way to get a name like MS on my resume, so hopefully it could line up more interviews.
