A few ideas...
I am probably going to get "flamed" for this, but there are a few things that I think need to be changed.
I think you should make it so individuals have to register to post.
There should be moderators who can delete inappropriate posts and ban people who violate "rules."
I read these boards to learn from others and to get informed, not to read posts with nothing but f bombs and sexual profanity in them. There are a lot of immature posts.
Hopefully you can think of something fix this, and if not I have read some valuable information but I can not tolerate the profanity. Therefore, I will be leaving these boards if nothing changes.
Other than these few posters I think this site is great.
Good luck working in the banking world if you can not handle f bombs and sexual profanity. Go teach second grade english.
Believe it or not you don't have to be a teacher to refrain from inappropriate speech, it is called having integrity and acting professional. To use that kind of language is immature and unprofessional. Most "professional" (professional job) forums don't tolerate this kind of talk, and I peronally don't want to read it. But I am guessing that most people who have a problem controlling their profane mouths are in their late teens early twenties and/or haven't grown up yet mentally. Then again most of them are anonymous monkeys and are most likely trolls. Whatever the case may be, this is a public forum and I just think it should be moderated a little more.
I can tolerate occasional curse words, but I think sentences like "its for fuckers to douche each others' asses" are too much.
If you can't tolerate this kind of language, I would not advise you to work in an IB environment.....Profane language and racial slurts are not uncommon.
i agree the last sentence is immature and adds no value to the site, but we also do not want to inhibit anonymous monkeys from posting when they are providing useful advice / commentary. we will try to monitor obsessive profanity that is out of context.
unfortunately, it is difficult to track since we are in a forum of free speech -- I want to limit censorship so people can get across how they truly feel. we are going to have immature users / anonymous posters. we will try to monior them for spam. overall, i do not think this has become a widespread problem in most of the forums (yet), but we will monitor it.
