Analyst position out of UG - 125MM AUM firm in Cali - Exit Opps/Comp?
I'm starting to interview with this relatively small and unknown firm in the Bay Area and would love to get your insights on exit opps, comp and lifestyle.
Here are the job responsibilities from the posting:
-Assist with the sourcing and due diligence process for potential investment opportunities
-Research market fundamentals, trends, and investment opportunities
-Assist with creation and administration of periodic budget vs. actual of portfolio investment companies
-Assist with creation of detailed annual budgets for existing projects (portfolio investment companies)
-Assist with annual/quarterly/monthly management and investor reporting processes of various types, including quarterly consolidated financial statements, valuation, and LP communication
-Analyze and report benchmarking both internally between projects and against external industry standards
-Execute day-to-day operations of the operating company; manage status and deliverables of on-going projects
-Assist in policy / process development and implementation
For someone who wants to break into PE out of undergrad, would this be a good position? The beginning of the posting makes it sound like the analyst will mainly be doing operations within the portfolio company but the bulleted responsibilities sound more like a traditional PE associate role.
