Are Corporate Career Pages a BLACK HOLE?
So, I am applying to some internship positions for this summer using a variety of job posting sites. I am applying to boutique, MM, and BB IBDs. For the MM and BB applications, I am obviously re-directed to the bank's central career page for the application.
I would like to get a little bit of input from people regarding the process of applying through these main career portals. Is it worth it? Have people actually received calls from HR referencing their on-line application to IB and Capital Markets SA positions? I am doubtful of this after all the OCR dust has settled, but was wondering if anyone had any miracles occur in the past.
I've heard that unless you have somebody on the other end of the computer to pick up your application and bring it to the right person, that yes, it is a black hole.
ive landed 2 jobs and my junior year internship through career websites (no contacts nor on campus recruiting).
There's no downside to submitting. And yes, I've gotten calls through it.
