Asset Management ~> Equity Reseach (Analyst)

I currently work for a WM team for (one of) the largest WM firm in the industry. I recently realized that I would prefer to be in more of a equity analyst role. Does anyone have experience going from WM to Equity Reseach? Any advice to how I could market myself to make the change. I will be licensed in the 7 and 66 in a few months, do you think that helps? I kinda have the feeling that I might have to want for B-School before I can make the jump :-/

B-school will definitely get you there. I don't know enough about WM to say whether the experience is enough to transition directly to research.

My BB does not hire undergrads, and spots are super tight right now at the Associate level. Basically if you have an opening on your team you can find the ideal candidate, basically somebody who has an MBA, CFA, and has already covered the space for an II-ranked team.
