Can anyone tell me about the technology teams at investment banks? How does one get a job in the back office (do they recruit at schools for back office jobs)? Are all the people in technology CMIS majors?

Not that hard
It shouldn't be as hard to get into, depending on which bank/firm you are targetting.
A second tier bank where I worked in summer, their tech group were mostly people with CS /MIS background.
Note that they preferred industry certificationss a lot as well, especially oracle and PHP or pearl. Its mostly, DBA related jobs.
I'm thinking about majoring
I'm thinking about majoring in CMIS because I'm pretty good at it, but I have no idea how I would get a job at the BB or even MM. I looked at AG Edwards and all their IT analyst spots require 3 years of related work experience, so I have no idea how a college grad would get into the technology side.
not all ppl in technology
not all ppl in technology have majors in CS/MIS...the team i worked with this summer, most weren't CS/MIS majors...
