BACKGROUND CHECK QUESTION - advice appreciated
Hi,
Recently offered a new job I've accepted. A question on the background check/induction forms essentially asks if I've ever been fired/requested to resign/suspended from any previous employment - years ago I was asked to resign from a waitering job at a restaurant because I could no longer work the shifts they needed me to work. Do I need to disclose this? My job is FO at a BB if that makes any difference (ie are banks more stringent about this stuff)?
Assuming I don't need to disclose it because there is zero relevance and I can't imagine any way the bank would find out....aware I'm being pedantic but I'm excited about the job and don't want anything (however small) to derail it.

similar situation as well, thanks for posting as I was about to start thread on it. i was "terminated" due to not meeting sales goals but was still able to collect unemployment, how would a future employer view this. also any of you forced to provide salary history and inflated the numbers? tia
I can't say for sure but my best guess is future employers won't care if the new role is non-sales related but may care if it is? Can't comment on providing salary history as I'm entry level/just starting FT work.
Please use common sense. No need to disclose this. No one cares.

@bobbyfillet, someone who is a bit higher up and has been involved in hiring may be able to answer your question accurately. Perhaps @SSits and @DingDong08 will have some insight for both you and the OP re: whether you need to disclose being asked to resign from a hospitality job years ago when filling out a BB's induction forms and protocol on inflating salary etc.
