Best way/place online to catch up on the market/economy for the past year?
If someone had an interview in a week for a BB S&T analyst position and needed to catch up on the market/economy over the past year, what's the best way to do that? Like a good summary of the entire year.
There's so much to focus on in the market. What are the main sectors to focus on for the interview?
Thanks a lot for any useful information

I'm a pretty big fan of John Mauldin's website - free to read, pretty good 50,000 ft insite.
www.realclearmarkets.com generally has pretty good economic commentary by top-tier economists (george stiglitz has written some great articles recently on the fallout)
you also may want to contact the firm you're interviewing with and ask for some recent capstone research pieces (esp from the rates desk). They usually publish one in January/July/December. I never had any problem getting one if it was 1+ month old.

in interviews, remember that when you talk about finance news, it's got to be perfect. they are experts in their fields. if you claim that you are passionate about the market, they will for sure ask you a question about what's going in today's papers.
