Buffet, Icahn, and the media

Why does the media love Buffet, yet portray Icahn so negatively? I like them both, but I think the world needs more shareholder activists like Icahn. Why does the media portray them as Gekkos instead of "watchful protectors."

Do your research. This isn't hard to understand. Also, spell Buffett's name correctly.

The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd.

Buffett is a more personable guy. He's frugal, has lived in the same house for the last 50ish years and outside of his jet, the "Indefensible" and the companies he acquire, he has no major spending needs. You don't hear about him and a hostile takeover.

Icahn is synonymous with corporate raids and you can tell by his interviews that he seems a bit more guarded and colder than Buffett (or I might just be hallucinating).

Regardless, I admire both of them for what they do. Both have an astounding legacy and both deserve due respect. It's just a matter of perspective and history, I think.
