Business School Running Commentary

I will be starting my MBA program this upcoming fall and thought it might be a decent idea to set up a running blog topic to provide some insights as I go through the program for those interested in hearing my take from day one through graduation. While I won't plan on writing a post every day (or anything close to that), perhaps monthly updates on the types of classes I'm taking, group project work, time management and other anecdotal feedback would be the initial focus.

I have been a long-time lurker on the site and think this might be a good way to give something back to the community. I will be a attending a program on the east coast part-time while keeping my current full-time job. I have my own reasons for pursuing PT programs vs. FT, which I can touch on more in-depth in a future post.

For anyone interested in reading commentary on these topics, what would you like to read about in addition to the areas I've mentioned above?

I think it would be interesting to know how you made the decisions you've made already --FT vs PT --where to apply --where to attend --why the commute --cost issues/decisions

And then when you get there --culture of a PT program, esp. when you are from out of state --similarity of your program with the full time program in terms of quality of students, professors, campus life, teamwork --career services, even if you aren't availing yourself of them, everyone wants to know if they are available for part-timers

I think it would be interesting to start blogging now to talk about the pre-MBA experience, not just the application, but the prep for changing your schedule and your life
