Can work experience help you get into MFE / MSF?

Hey guys,

I'm starting as a 1st year in BB S&T next summer, but in my last year of college I've realized I'm more interested in quantitative finance than regular S&T.

So I think I want to go back and get a MFE or MS in financial math after my analyst stint is over, but I'm going to graduate with a very mediocre GPA (3.5) from a semitarget undergrad as an econ major/math minor.

Assuming I can meet the prerequisites, though, would having BB S&T work experience help me overcome a weak GPA if I wanted to get into a top program? I know work experience is huge for MBAs but is it the same for MFE?
