Caris Co vs Montgomery Co
Hey guys I am a senior with 3.5 gpa from non-target in CA.
I have prior experience in investment banking and equity research and hope to do another investment banking internship at a boutique.
Caris & Co and Montgomery & Co are the ones that I am particularly interested at the moment.
Based on their websites, Caris & Co seems to advise mostly on biopharm, lifesci, and healthcare sectors while Montgomery & Co focuses on technology and media.
I have their transaction links below: http://www.cariscompany.com/recent_transactions.p… http://www.monty.com/pages/transactions/
Can you guys give me little insight on these two?
Thanks
You're probably too late for Montgomery. I interviewed there and know a guy who got an offer, and based on their size I don't think they give out many.
What exactly do you want to know? They focus on a very specific subset of tech and media - digital media.
I thought boutiques were more flexible in terms of hiring than bulge brackets, as some of them hire on need base.
Caris and they said they do hire students every now and then on quarterly basis. I sent my resume to VP and she said contact her around March for a possible position.
I was wondering whether Montgomery hire students every now and then on need base like Caris or strictly from the standard recruiting process like large banks.
Well they might or might not (I'm not sure) but what I do know is that they have given out offers and people have accepted it so I don't think they need anyone right now. Possibly in the spring.
Of course, it doesn't hurt to try though.
