Chicago Metro & Buss passes?
Any one recomend getting this if going to be in Chicago for a summer? It's 100 usd for 30 days. Plan on taking metro to work and bus?
Any more experienced person care to chime in have no problem pming location/firm if it will help.
Also, do you recommend bringing a car? For my past internship I did but that was taking a car from DC to Virgina and driving is a pain in the ass in the cities.
Also how packed are the buses/trains at like ~6:00 am to ~6:00 pm?
Also, how do you hail a taxi in a city? Any tips?
Any tips/advice for living in this city you can give people who will be interning/saing there this summer :D
Like any thing you wish you would have known before you lived their that would have made your life easier?
Also, is riding a bike to work looked down upon?

CTA is the cheapest way to get around the city. The trains/buses usually come every 5-10 mins. Use the CTA app to see the schedule. I don't think a car would be ideal cause you'd have to deal with traffic & I've heard parking tends to get expensive.
Depending on how close you are to the city, you shouldn't have a problem getting a taxi. If you notice there aren't many taxis roaming around in the area, then you can use one of the cab services & request a taxi for a certain time & place.
If you're really hesitant to buy the CTA 30 day unlimited pass, try taking the train/bus only once a day or something (ie. on your way to work) & just use a regular transit card...you'll save close 40 bucks. I live near the city & usually enjoy walking around everywhere if I'm not in a rush (weather permitting of course lol). Whether the unlimited pass is worth it really depends on the person. If you're not close to where you work, I'd buy it. Makes life much easier!
Having a car in the city is a pain with parking. It's going to cost you an arm and a leg or you are going to be way out of your way. Definitely would not recommend.
