Corp. Inurance Broking career change to F500

Quick bio: been an insurance broker at one of the top 3 shops (Marsh, Aon, Willis) for the last 2 1/2 years after finishing my BA in econ. Very seriously considering a career change into corp finance, and specifically FP&A (main reasons: wanting a more stimulating/challenging job & not having to work crazy hours/lots of travel because of this being a heavy client-facing role). If you work at one of the main offices for one of these firms, its actually a very competitive environment (not internally/coworkers, but because our clients are getting calls all the time from our competitors) and if you show talent/promise, work load can easily go up to 50-60 hour work weeks with occasional travel if you work on large, national accounts.

Question: since i don't have any technical knowledge or experience in Finance, I'm considering a MS Finance program (non-target uni). What would be a ballpark starting salary for a FP&A position for a F500, after i complete the MSF program? Would my work experience thus far help in any way (i.e. during recruiting, salary negotiations, etc.)?

Are there any other routes that I may not be considering? Unfortunately, the job searches i have been doing mainly require a finance/accounting degree and some corp fin work experience.

Many thanks in advance!
