Deloitte internship questions

Hi, I got an offer for a (undergrad) summer internship with Deloitte and had some questions.

  1. Do interns get any help with relocation?
  2. Do interns get a loaned laptop for the summer?
  3. What kind of clothes/shoes am I expected to wear day to day? (female)
  4. How much traveling is involved for a BTA intern? Is it usually just regional locations?
  5. What kind of physical work environment is it? Like sitting in an open room with 30 other people, sharing a cubicle, sharing an office with 4 people..?
  6. What is training like?
  7. What sort of events will there be in terms of networking, stuff with full time people, stuff with interns?
  8. What Technology service lines are best/most interesting/would translate into better opportunities for future positions or business school?
  9. What are the NYC offices like? Do they have free drinks/snacks, what kind of food options are there for lunch in the building and out on the street? Is there only one Deloitte office in NYC at 25 Broadway?
  10. What would be a good way to find cheap housing/roommates in the area? I wouldn't want to be more than ~20 minutes away by subway/walking.

Also, I suppose, which of these questions would be appropriate to ask my recruiter?

Thanks for any help!

Best Response
  1. Don't know about relocation, I was local
  2. Yes
  3. Business casual every day except Friday, for my office. Also, it largely depends on your client site
  4. They try to staff locally, but they can't always do it. Out of our class...3 were local, the rest were traveling.
  5. Depends on the client site, really. I shared a cube for half a a summer and then was in a conference room for the rest. In office, usually flex stations
  6. Training is fun and relaxed. Also, you will probably get some OT hours :)
  7. Networking is handled by recruiting staff. There will be at least some networking with BTA's, talks from some partners, and literally every person I emailed and asked for a meeting said yes. This was one of my favorite parts of the summer
  8. No idea, and you don't really have a choice for the internship. They'll staff you where they need you.
  9. Was not at NYC
  10. No idea
