Did i **** up?

I was fortunate and landed a boutique SA this summer.

I need to travel before I endure this job full-time as I'm prepared for the analyst stint the future holds. As a result, I have applied to some other IB's for longer term internships, which typically start in Sep/Oct.

The thing is, I sent two application off and included the fact that I secured an internship, but I didn't give the name. I then interviewed at one of the firms and was questioned on it, so I gave the name.

Since I obviously can't keep it a secret as it comes up in interviews, I sent my last two applications off with the name included on the cover letter and on the CV (adjusting the format accordingly, saying what I will be doing, since I start in June).

Am I screwed? Will any of these banks contact the boutique and ask? (Even if I haven't got an offer for a long term internship yet?) Would you? If I get an offer before starting at the boutique, they'll definitely check with them...will the boutique care? Would they renege my offer (everything is signed) because I'd like to take a year out, and work anywhere in the field to earn travelling money? I don't think they would since the interviewers were lovely, but is this reality though?

Quite worried...

Thanks.

You have been black listed from every M&A firm controlled by the illuminati in the world. Your future is officially non existent in all 51 states and Canada. The global consortium of banking leaders had voted to strip you of all possible employment in the financial industry.

Men in black suits will be knocking on your door shortly. This may or may not be the KGB/CIA. You need to get out of there asap and shop around for a handgun (preferably with serial # filed off).

Here's what they're prepared to offer. You give them all of your money, your career is safe. Forever. Nobody knows about it. The issue's off the map. So, this is what I would suggest. You conclude the deal. Shake hands. You start the rest of your life. Any dreams you have, or plans, or hopes for your future... I think you're going to have to put that on hold. For the rest of your life you're going to be looking over your shoulder. I'm just telling you this because I want you to know the truth. But your career is safe.

Glad to see this thread has a 20% help rate (this 5th post doesn't help me).

SDeep24, you are correct. This internship will in no way overlap the ones I'm applying for and I really want to work at the boutique both as a SA and FT. I just want a year out and unfortunately, there are no internships in the fall at the boutique I'm working at, so I applied elsewhere, with the hope of travelling before starting final year.

For those making 'jokes', remember that first offer you got at a firm you like....
