I know that a lot of the i-banks have gyms in their office buildings, but as an analyst would you ever get to actually use it? From what I've heard it's not too uncommon for an analyst to have a period of an hour or so during the day when they are simply waiting around before work actually gets hectic. Is it common for analysts to use this time for activities such as working out (obviously while still being connected through the berry) or would this generally be frowned upon?

Go work out. Usually it's better to be discrete about it, an always make sure you're available in case of a blow-up. If you're responsive, nobody will care. When I go to my gym, I usually see three or four of my analysts there, and a couple of associates. I know they work hard, I don't care if they use an hour of downtime to work out.
