econ vs math with specialization in econ @ UChicago for IB?
Does anyone know the basic differences between economics and math with specialization in econ? I've spoken to a few current students and they say that economics is really cutthroat/competitive and somewhat theoretical, but that math with specialization in econ is super quantitative and really not that focused on econ at all.
Also, any alums or current students here on WSO that have any advice for an incoming first-year? (info on teachers/classes, clubs/RSOs, internship opportunities, CCIB, social/dorm life, etc.)
Thanks WSO!
