Finance to Back Office/Ops.... What's my story?
Hi WSO,
My first internship was in sales, then in MM corporate finance advisory. In my last internship, I wasn't able to get another finance gig and ended up in a back office role at a bank doing strategic sourcing/expense management (basically supply chain management and helping the bank save money on purchases).
How can I spin this or phrase this so that it makes sense that I am interested in/want to pursue a career in Finance? I'm worried that when interviewers ask I won't be able to come up with a good answer. Would you just leave that internship off your resume?
Thanks in advance
Say you wanted to check out all aspects of banking to make sure you were 100% sure that you want to pursue finance
I've thought about that, but I'm not sure if it comes off as BS sounding
