From what I understand, most of the strong FSG are based out in NY (ex: CS sponsors). Are there any that have sponsors groups out in SF?

If you're in anyone of the LA banks or in non-Tech SF, you will work with a lot of west-coast sponsors.
i'm going to be in FIG in SF, and i don't see much sponsors deals going on with my respective firm
