Not sure of compensation, but they have a very strong reputation and the guys that work there are top notch. They have been active looking at deals as of late, but remain selective (google some of their recent deals, they're looking at some assets in Brazil) considering the size of their recent fund.
This past year they contacted a few guys I know that got offers from the Barcap energy group in Houston for first round phone interviews

They are going through a organizational shift where two of their deal markers are leaving. The CEO basically runs the show there.
Performance has suffered recently.
