From Business Analyst to IB
Hey everyone, looking for some career advice here.
I go to a target school, major in economics, and am going to be finishing up a year- long co-op as a business analyst working for a major bank. My grades are brutal (3.0gpa) and this is my only somewhat relevant work experience, but I really have my sights set getting into the IB world.I have one year of schooling before graduating, and I am working on my CFA L1.
What can I do to break into IB in my situation? Is it realistic to get into IB after undergrad in my situation, or am I better off trying to land a consulting gig, and then getting my MBA/ Master of Finance and to try again later if everything is still pulling me there. Or would something completely different be better?
Tl;dr, Good school, wrong degree, poor grades, graduating in a year. Can I go from a BA position to IB after graduating or should I try my hand at washing cars at traffic lights?
Thank you in advance everyone!
