From equity research to global macro funds?

Hello, I am currently an undergraduate student with offers from S+T and Equity Research. I am currently really drawn to the broad skill set learned in equity research, and was wondering if it is possible to break into global macro funds from research? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

From what I've heard from Macro Fund PMs and CIOs is that research is probably the most viable to get into Global Macro Hedge Funds. Research is possible to break into Macro Funds. You want to be sure you want to get into Macro Funds as many of whom haven't been making strong returns in quite sometime and more notably in the short term, plus the hours can be crazy if you are covering a liquid asset in a different time zone.

Best of luck
