GE FMP to IM
I am a sophomore and looking at doing GE's FMP summer internship program hopefully at GE Capital or Asset Management.
Even though this is more of a management role (training to become a COO/CEO/CFO),
would it still help me get into the Investment Management space come next summer (between Junior and Senior year).
I go to a semi-target school with a good GPA and great extracurriculars plus previous internships in the GWM and IM space.
Would a GE FMP internship be looked highly upon, especially as a sophomore? Or would the management focus deter me?
Thanks!
i'd definitely take a look at your resume haha--definitely shows that you can go out and hustle for some serious finance internships, and plus since you're a soph you still have room to explore exactly what side of finance you want to be on, and this is part of the journey. enjoy your summer
yes, it a GE FMP internship would be looked highly upon, especially as a sophomore.
that said personally (i'm a right-wing "extremist"/libertarian) i don't think i could ever work for GE, considering their huge role in perpetuating crony capitalism/corporatism in the USA.
thanks guys.
any other thoughts?
Just about any finance internship is going to look great for you as a sophomore. GE's FMP is highly reputable and will undoubtedly help your resume for rising-Senior SA opportunities.
Thanks KingKong.
Even if it's not in IM, it would still be beneficial to do it then?
