GE FMP to IM

I am a sophomore and looking at doing GE's FMP summer internship program hopefully at GE Capital or Asset Management.

Even though this is more of a management role (training to become a COO/CEO/CFO), would it still help me get into the Investment Management space come next summer (between Junior and Senior year).

I go to a semi-target school with a good GPA and great extracurriculars plus previous internships in the GWM and IM space.

Would a GE FMP internship be looked highly upon, especially as a sophomore? Or would the management focus deter me?

Thanks!

Just about any finance internship is going to look great for you as a sophomore. GE's FMP is highly reputable and will undoubtedly help your resume for rising-Senior SA opportunities.
