Group differentiation at Carlyle

Hey, I've used this forum fairly consistently for a resource of info, but this is first time posting...

Curious as to the differences in groups for a Pre-MBA associate at the Carlyle Group. Which groups are known to be more "prestigous?" Better culture? Better exit opps? Bigger, widely known deals? etc.

Any info on group differentiation would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

interviews are group specific. are you asking to determine which group to interview with? why not just pick a sector that you like? prestige and exit ops on a group by group basis don't matter as much when you're talking about a place like carlyle.

they are highly regarded in aerospace/defense. group doesn't have many associates so i think you'll get worked but i've heard they have a decent culture. heard industrials associates get worked hard. probably true in most of their groups - they're a big shop with lots of people so they need to generate deal flow.

they do big deals in just about every sector and i'm sure exit ops would be good out of all groups. what do you want in terms of exit ops?
