Help - liquienet?

I know this is certainly a random question to ask here (especially in the midst of current market crisis), but I was just curious to see if anyone here has ever heard of the company or its website, www.liquidnet.com

One of my close friends asked me to see (he's a computer engineer and considering interviewing with the company) if the idea this firms promotes is something feasible and practical, if at all, or is something that is just b/s created by people who don't really know finance and how the trading floor works in reality.

I would appreciate any feedback from people working in sales/trading as well as any comments from those who have decent knowledge about the trading business. Thanks.
