Hi - Studying accounting at Boston College
Hi. I'm new to this forum. I have been here before but just reading through threads. I'm studying accounting and will graduate in December from Boston College.
I was wondering if there was a chance for someone like me to get into Asset Management or some kind of lucrative sales.
I don't have crazy connections but my school is pretty well respected in Boston. It isn't an ivy league though. I was told you had to go to an ivy league to get into the lucrative banking jobs.
Anyways, it is nice to meet you all!

Welcome PearMartini!
What was your internship in?
Tax at a mid-sized CPA firm that specializes in high net-worth individuals & businesses. I prepared taxes and was someone's slave for tax season.
A lot of Big 4 recruit from BC, look into that and get a winter internship since you'll graduate in December. That should result in a FT offer and from there is should be easier to find a job in something you want to do.
I already applied and interviewed for a Tax internship at KPMG and an assurance internship at PWC and never got second interviews. I have no idea what went wrong. I'm not socially awkward, I'm actually very friendly.
Delloite & E&Y don't even have applications up for fall or winter on BC's career website or their own official websites.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself if I don't get hired by a Big 4. I'm not even passionate about Big 4. It just seems soul crushing for the amount of pay I'd be earning.
hi im new here too..
If you are actually good at selling (most people aren't, so by extension, you're probably not, but those are just odds), there should be a lot of places willing to hire you. But, you have to get out there and sell yourself. You're really thinking about a job search late though. What makes you think you're a good saleswoman?
I guess its just my personality. I'm friendly and have been told I would be a good used car saleswoman. I have bartended at sports bars and night clubs (not college bars, real night life in Miami). I also just prefer the idea of being on my own or with clients than with co-workers all day in a cube.
Is there any hope for me?
