Houlihan Lokey Restructuring (Real Estate) Interview

I have an OCR first round coming up next week, and I was wondering if anyone could provide some additional color on HL's FR RE group (NY). Also what kinds of questions should I expect to be asked in addition to basic RX technicals from the guides.

Send me a PM.

Robert Clayton Dean: What is happening? Brill: I blew up the building. Robert Clayton Dean: Why? Brill: Because you made a phone call.

I got the FT offer this past Friday and I will be joining the team in the coming summer. The interview consisted of two rounds within the same day e.g. if you performed poorly over the first few interviews than you wouldn't meet the rest of the team. I was initially slated for three interviews, but after the third HR continued to bring me around to additional members of the team. It was an extremely pleasant process with a mix of fit/technical questions. The technical questions were conceptual financial questions that pertained to real estate economics and investments e.g. from as open-ended as what makes a good real estate investment to cap-rate approach vs. risk premium approach for selecting a discount rate for a cash flowing asset

Congrats! I'm assuming this is for an analyst position. Is this different than the rest of the FRG group or is RE a specific team within overall FRG? I'm looking at Associate roles in FRG.

Thanks Eli!
