Technology Industry in Austin?
Currently working at a software company in San Fran. Obviously, this is the center of the technology industry and from a purely career based perspective I should stay.
However, for personal reasons (not to be discussed) it's likely that I'll have to move to Austin, TX.
My question is simple; how is the tech scene in Austin? It certainly doesn't rival the west coast, but is it substantial? Am I seriously limiting my career potential if I go?
All input is appreciated.
It's not called the Silicon Hills for nothing. You'd be shocked but it's pretty easily the second largest tech presence outside of SV. May actually have more tech companies that SV on a density basis shockingly enough.

Any word on the few firms in the area? Relevant and general advice is welcome. I'll be pursuing a 2015 SA position. Thank you.
non-existent. most tech is run out of SF/boston/NYC. with teleconferencing these days you no longer are required to have an office where your clients are.
