IBank Operations versus Big 4 Consulting- Final goal Front office

Hi guys

I have a job offer from one of the Big 4 consulting and from IBank Operations PM for P/L. My final goal is to be working for the front office. Which would be a better job to reach my end goal?

I am not in Transaction Advisory in the Big 4 but advisory. So should I join the Big 4, move to transaction services and then go for front office roles?
OR
Whereas , I will be in ops work in IBank, and then try moving to some other front office.

Any suggestions - highly appreciated. Very confused!

Thanks

I think it matters what group's ops and what Big 4 group. Big 4 IT consulting, for example, is probably not going to help much.

Seems to me that Ops to FO is much more likely if you're in trading than in investment banking-does that seem to be the general consensus? I know a handful of traders who started out as ops guys on their desks but can't think of anyone who worked in ops for a corp finance and made the move.

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.

Yes, Big Four Consulting group - that they started out as newly. Not into transaction services but Finance Advisory kind of role.

IBank in Operations for middle office is the role.

With the Ibank, it could mean that i have at least a foot in my door?

Thanks again guys for your inputs! Much appreciated
