If good ole Viky P. and Raj-raj can make it big, then so can you. Are you worried that you'll have limited opportunities for advancement because you're Indian? Dude, this is 2015. We have a black President, and from the looks of it we're gonna have a female one soon enough.

The bamboo ceiling is real, but it's not impossible to bash your way through, and really, what are your alternatives when it comes to "prestigious" professions? The ceiling is going to be there whether you're in banking, consulting, law, or even tech. Maaaaaaaaybe not in medicine if you're a good enough doctor, but choosing your field based on whether you think your race will hinder your opportunities is a bit of a losing proposition right from the get-go.

Yes, there are plenty of Indians on Wall Street. No, when most Americans say Asian they're probably talking about East Asians and will generally use Indian when talking about South Asians (and probably lump in Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in with the term Indian). In the UK they tend to use East and South Asians to distinguish between the two though.

Why do you ask or care? If it's a concern about wanting to be around a lot of Indians try Silicon Valley. It's amazing how greatly the Indian population has increased there in the last decade.
