Informational interviews for Career switchers

Hello everybody,

First off, great wealth of info on the site. Awesome resource. I am a former technology design/Engineer guy looking to switch to I-banking. I am doing some informational interviews with banks, and i think I have an ok job of pitch, I basically have gone through 2 acquisitions at my prior company and so can talk about the synergies I observed, leading me to gain an interest in a career in banking. I get the question, " Why banking and why not corporate finance or internal M&A?". Can someone help me with a polished explanation for that? I have a very cliched version of the answer: diversified industry opportunity, opportunity to work on multiple products, client focus etc. Is there more advice someone can give on this?
