Is America's Future Generation Screwed?

I was wondering how bad will it be for America's future generations considering that all is going wrong? I'm not just talking under Bush and Obama/McCain but I mean like 20-30 yrs. down the line how bad has America become been affected by the economy failings, overseas wars, etc? Also, is it even still worth being an American citizen one of my friend's uncle is leaving for New Zeland away from all the crap that's happening in the world, I'm just curious as to how badly my generation will be affected?

i think every generation says this---like the 50s and the cold war and world wide socialism---if you could predict 20-30 yrs down the road you'd be a rich man. Chill out, dont have a lot of babies.

...i have plenty of friends who feel as if they are screwed right now never mind the next generation.

plenty wish they could go back to business school to complete an MBA. but right now, everything is ridiculous.

i have friends considering leaving the country to look for work. though process here is that they don't know anyone in SF or Boston but know plenty of ppl in china and india.

idk if the next generation is screwed or not. i just know that the first year analysts who were laid off and have yet to find a job are pretty much screwed by mid-october.

one no-name boutique received 175 bulge bracket resumes and interviewed 25. brought 3 back to the final round and did not hire anyone.

times are rough out there. i think people are more concerned with whats going to happen in the next year than the next generation

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

Yeah, I'm not just talking strictly about banking. I'm speaking about other things like universal health care, Social Security, etc. My biggest fear right now aside from getting accepted to a top college is whether the U.S government opens up a third front in Iran and they call a draft. That really sucks for those bankers.

Are you guys kidding me? Living with "fear" is ridiculous. There is always going to be something in life to worry about. As long as you can (1) Learn something interesting and (2) make a nice living (e.g. x>$100,000/yr), your worries should be fleeting. I think that takes care of 99% of people on wsoasis.
