Is it possible for CC student to land IB Internship?

Is it possible for students attending a community college to be considered for an internship position at an Investment Bank? I spoke with a few associates/VPs/MDs at a recruiting seminar recently and some seemed to be accepting of this while others seemed as if they wouldn't even consider someone coming from a community college. I will be applying to a target school this year for potential admission but i'd like to find an IB internship before I get there. Will they even look at my resume? I do have strong work experience and leadership involvement.

Anyone have experience/insight? Any suggestions?

sorry to say, but in this

sorry to say, but in this tough hiring year, it would be very unlikely.

Focus more on transferring

Focus more on transferring to a target school or a non-targer where you think you'll have a competitive shot at admission. Do the best you can...that's all you can do.

Good point

Good point. My main focus is transferring but I am also concerned with obtaining an IB Internship to stay competitive when and if I get to the target.

Are you a sophomore

Are you a sophomore transferring in as a junior? I would concentrate on getting like an FP&A role in a F500 company or something finance oriented not specifically just banking. There are plenty of sophomore internships listed on this board to help bolster your competitiveness.

You got to prove that you have the stuff

In order to convince them, you got to show some hard evidence that you have the commitment and knowledge. For example, you can take the CFA exams. Wall Street Prep is also a very good way to learn IB stuff. And the material is created by former IB bankers. You can get a 15% discount from http://wallstreetprep8.blogspot.com/.
