So my MD wants me to draft a powerpoint presentation for potential investors. The presentation is to be about the potential transaction of assimilating two private companies and buying out the major shareholder (who has a large % of shares in both companies) for management control and quality improvement etc.
The presentation will have the usual executive summary, industry overview, company overview, financial overview, investment highlights and such.
Is this what an information memorandum is? I ask so I list this experience properly on my resume.
Thanks!

This sounds like more of a
This sounds like more of a general information memorandum ( or more accurately, a pitch book) rather than an official "confidential information memorandum." In order to honestly say you worked on a confidential information memorandum, it must be a presentation which solicates an investment opportunity to potential investors/buyers which is part of a formal sale process. This means you first sent a teaser out to potential investors/buyers which they would evaluate and decide whether or not to sign a Non-disclosure agreement. Once they sign the NDA, you would send them the CIM.
I think information memorandum would be fine to put on your resume, but be careful as to not mislead a potential interviewer.
Best of luck my friend.
