Junior Big 4 interviews - case interviews?
I was talking to a current student at my school who accepted a 2020 intern position with KPMG. She's doing Internal Audit/Risk and she said there were 0 case interviews for her. And she talked with a recruiter during recruiting and the recruiter said there was no case interviews for any Advisory (consulting) internship interviews. Can anyone refute this? I know MBB definitely does cases, but Big 4 management consulting (internship) interviews should also definitely do case interviews, right?
I know PWC does case interviews for their management consulting practice. I don’t think advisory usually has case interviews.
Awesome, thanks for the response. Follow-up to that, do you know if the first round is behavioral and second round is case? Or is it intermixed?
I would say it depends on your office and school. I go to a pretty large school so they have to weed out some candidates with a behavioral first and then a case later. I’ve heard it go both ways. My EY super day consisted of both within a few hours of each other.
Can 2nd this for PwC & Deloitte as currently interviewing there. They do have case interviews but aren't anywhere near as hard as MBB. Most are simplified market sizing or stock standard cases from case books.

Audit/Risk isn't consulting, disregard that info.
Yes, you're almost certainly going to encounter a case interview during consulting recruitment. However, different groups within different companies may have different interview practices and they can change year to year, so it is possible that some groups at some companies may not include cases.
Had case interviews with 2 out of the big 4 advisory (not consulting) arms, they were a joke compared to cases at MBB/T2 etc firms

Nah they were even easier. All qualitative, and related to the specific line you were interviewing for. Just learn the most basic of frameworks and you'll be fine if you've even started prepping for other cases.
