My odds for landing an internship or week-long program session?

So I'm a sophomore coming from a non-target, University of Miami.

Transferred from another school after freshman year where I had a 3.4

Now I have a 3.88 at Miami, and that is our official gpa so that is what is on my resume.

Majoring in Business Management and possibly Economics

I'm heavily involved at school, being a member of the entrepreneurship club, society of human resource management and I participated in the Investopedia Online Stock Simulator Challenge where I achieved a 15% return on a simulated $100,00 portfolio.

Have had some work experience with a manufacturing machinery company and I'm looking to get my foot in the door in IB.

A few relatives of mine are VPs/Directors at Credit Suisse and Citigroup so I'm going to see if they can help me out for next summer, considering that CSFB only hires interns after junior year.

How challenging is the CSFB Wall Street Immersion Program to get into?

Also, I've applied for Operations Division Summer Analyst at Goldman and some other various internships such as Merill's Chief Financial Office intern.

Just wanted to know what are my chances of landing one of these internships and if I use my contacts, getting a job in the industry?

"CSFB" recently rebranded itself and goes by just CS.

Also, they have a rotational summer internship for sophomores. 1/3 is spent in research, 1/3 in corp fin, and 1/3 in sales trading.

Use your contacts at the firms you mentioned; you won't necessarly get the job because of them, but you should certainly get an interview or a few.

I'm from a non-target and I have two friends who went through the ML CFO program; they liked it and plan to join the firm full-time.

Avoid operations.
